He notes that there is much public discomfort and concern over transportation issues and believes the public has never gotten its say. He also reiterates his call for the head of the Texas Department of Transportation, former GOP state rep Rick Williamson to be replaced. Williamson is one of the governor's longest and closest personal friends and political allies and it is doubtful Gov. Perry has taken kindly to the idea.
