  • Funny how simple tunes like this stay with you all your life and can click the buttons of memories of half a century back

  • This brings back memories. Thumbs up :)

  • The actual title of the music is "We are almost ready to begin". It was written by my father Lionel Salter. The first minute of the music is missing here. From memory I think it lasted one minute and 55 seconds - leaving just enough time for the announcer to give an ID at the end.

  • aren't those people on youtube who go if for example there's 7 dislikes "7 people don't get it" the most annoying thing on here - them and those who go "thumbs up if so and so brought you here" and the Americans obsessed with how crap they think Justin Beiber is that they mention him on every bloody video

  • The Diamond appeared On BBC 1 In Autumn 1968 In Black and White, Colour In January 1970, Yellow From 1975-1978. The Diamond used for Schools and Collages Ended In 1978. But In Early 1979, The Dots Used For Schools and Collages changed. In 1982, The Dots changed merely black. In Autumn 1983, Schools Programes moved To BBC 2. In 1995, The Final editon Of Schools Programe, See Scotland came to a final programe.

  • 1 person didn't like not being able to shoot out the dots with their finger gun!

  • wow! what a brilliantly inspired hybridisation of the original (pie chart separately followed by the clock for the last 60 seconds). How did this get done? It's very good! And SOOOOO evocative of that wonderful childhood I had watching these classic 70s programmes!!

  • @moveitbetts There is a similar clip with "Guadalajara" as the accompanying music on Youtube but this is an apparently unnamed piece by Lionel Salter

  • @Feisty1967

I would never have guessed it is a recreation.

This is music I thought I'd never hear again.

  • £50,000 worth of airtime well spent
