Watch out! There's a rare Cougar on the prowl in Charlotte, NC! This Marti report documented Cougar was purchased with both the XR7 and GT option groups from the factory. It's also an original numbers-matching J Code 390 big block with air conditioning. In the Cougar world it doesn't get much better than this! The XR7 option gave buyers luxurious options such as the custom wood grain dash w/tachometer, overhead console, and interior lighting group. The GT package added power front disc brakes, stiffer suspension, and a Ford 9 Inch rear end as standard equipment. This Cougar is also the correct Augusta Green Metallic with Beige interior color as when it came new. This is a very nicely restored car that is something you don't see every day. Stand out at the next Ford/Mercury car show you attend! Want more details give call today at toll free 1-866-542-8392 or (704) 598-2130 also we welcome visitors to our Charlotte showroom every day.

  • xry and gt option,so it does have a 390...

  • J code is a 302 motor

  • the three bs ,beautiful, a beast, =1 bad ass mf thnx 4 tha post

  • I could be wrong, but I think the GT came with a wooden shift handle and on the passanger size dash plaque it should read Couger XR-7 GT.

  • Fucking beautiful

  • I had one of these too, back in '97. It had the lighter green color with white top and white leather interior. Gorgeous ride, and soooo quick ! Also like this one, it was the XR-7 GT 390. Just like bokeer 1123, I kick myself in the ass for selling it !!!! But, at the time, I had no money to keep it maintained (it was a money pit).

  • I had a similarly equipped (loaded) 69 Mustang once, and green with the vinyl top. This reminds me of it a lot. Even that clock reminds me of mine. Still worked and ticked away!

It still had the original mag type hubcaps and I put some RWLs on it and replaced the tired 302 with a mildly built 73 351C.

Man, talk about good cruising machine and some good times!!!

  • When he starts that up....oooh baby...

  • i just bought one of these yesterday, its a little more rough than this one but you get what you pay for

  • i used to have one exactly like this one. GOD!!! i kick myself in the ass for selling it
