  • If you dont want to catch the knot on your guides, use the albright knot on a tapered leader. its so small and still strong.

  • Alberto knot (improved Albright knot) is the fastest knot you can tie to attach braid to mono and if tied correctly it will swim threw the guides, but the best way to go is the FG knot, no knots on the mono at all and 100% strength of your line breakage limit...

  • THIS ISN'T THE REAL SHOCK LEADER -.-

  • also u can take a double bloodknot, he is stronger so i think.

  • As all ready said, 3mil of leader tag end!!! You will rip holes in your thumb and will catch knot on the guides, Also you never wet the knot when pulling tight, this will cause heat/friction damage, ALWAYS wet your knots!

  • does this work the same joining braid to leader??? please reply!

  • grazie millee , thank you so much !!

  • very simple

  • G'day mate, I tried casting with a shock leader and the knot I used between the shock leader and main braid line was hitting/touching the guides and significantly affected my distance. How do i tackle this problem?

  • Although this is quick and easy knot to tie, I doubt it will be strong. I like the improved GT knot if I have time, and the Uni-to-Uni knot for quickies.
