This is for the electronics geeks out there. I am repairing and restoring an old Marconi model 220 tube radio and I thought I would make kind of a do-it-yourself documentary to share my little hobby with everyone. In part 7 we stain the new veneer and apply some varnish.

  • I was actually going to cut the stain-sniffing out, fearing that folks might think I am kind of a freaky parent, but it was too cute, and just too much like him. Besides, he doesn't sniff stain more than a couple of times a day.

  • I have a old bendix it worked good for awhile intel it quit getting sound so I replaced all of the vaccum tubes with new old stock ones from tube depot but the radio still would not get sound so im paying a shop to fix.

  • THE SHADOW KNOWS! lol my dogs name is Shadow.

  • Kid: "Oh it smells sooo good!!!!"

Parent: "Ya like that do ya?"

It sounded like you were trying hard not to laugh xD

Very cute! And a VERY good/ well documented video!!

  • it's looking good

  • @aliendaddy32 I think that's terrible..what kind of a father are you? My dad used to let me sniff stain at least 6 or 7 times a day! ; ) Seriously, thanks for this series, it's done for the average guy.

  • It's great to see other people like myself involving their children in the hobby of radio restoration and repair. My two assistants are 5 and 8 years old. They spent the most time restoring my 1947 Fada TV. Keep up the great job!!!

  • Excellent helpers! Glad to see dad teaching the boys how to do something meaningful!

    Cheers

  • The kids have gone to Play station?

Dad!!-he is still worrying about '"shade and form! "------oh!!-----they are back?

Older kids like "what Dad is doing? "

    Steve.
