Released back in 1983 "Life Begins At Forty" here is a long lost 80s classic by New Zealand band Dave And The Dynamos. It held the number one position in their home country for 3 consecutive weeks in that same year.

Although this is not the original video clip it was recently created as a kind of personal video retrospective and features some random classic clips spanning across four decades of music (1969 to 2009). Obviously it would be an ideal post for someone who may be turning the big 4...0 this year & was uploaded to share as such. It may also provide a challenge for some to identify the clips & artists featured. Good luck... at the very least it will be interesting to see which dickwit record company flags this one lol!
*Note: If you are a Record Company employee or artist(s) themselves who object(s) to this commercially unavailable video footage being promoted on YouTube (albeit in a lossy mono audio format) then please contact us to have it removed before flagging it. At the same time you may also like to explain to the fans why they cannot access this classic material in a decent quality digital format anywhere else?
You wont make a profit on something that cannot be purchased but enough exposure may well help sell what you actually do have for sale. Meanwhile to share ones talents is the greatest of gifts!
Please also be aware that all videos uploaded to YouTube are format shifted by the host website from the original files. This can often cause picture & sound deterioration (i.e. mono audio) as well as the occasional video/audio synchronization issue. The files are also deliberately layered on our end with logos and artists links in order to prevent YouTube recycling by lazy up-loaders, while at the same time helping to promote the artists themselves!

Go Dave! I had a band PG and the Hot Tips, was producing Shazam! on TVNZ too, both us and them had singles with CBS in NZ in 1982. Ours was 'Hot Guitars', an instrumental medley .... Dave's sold heaps, number one for ten weeks i think on Ready2Roll... I think we sold a few too... great days!

Good God! I'd forgotten about this one! I was just a kid when it came out. It's not high art, but it's well crafted and a good laugh. Enjoyed listening to it again. Thanks for posting it.

Lol - certainly an interesting approach!
As for the song itself (as you've mentioned it hit NZ No1 in 1983 - due in part to its airplay in NZ at a time that nearly no NZ music was being played on NZ radio!) lets just say that the NZ music critics and magazines (notably "Rip it up" rated this as amongst the worst NZ songs ever to make it big!
The "Dave" in this band was Dave Luther, a singer/songwriter who originally led 'Hogsnort Rupert', a NZ rock group of the late 60s-early 70s.
