Where is the U.S. Open of Surfing held? In the 60s the US Championships was in HB. Then the Katin Pro, OP Pro. Dean Torrance (you know, the guy who sang it) moved to HB and he is the one who got us to name it "Surf City" - sorta HIS call since it's his gig.
So, whatever hodaddies.

Hey, hey hey. I live in HB and we're the only SURF CITY USA. When I put Surf City in google, Huntington Beach pops up. Sorry, apparently we're more important than your backwater city. BAM ROASTED. >:D

OK hillbillybob, you go ahead and tell them that, and maybe they will drop the name for you. Then you can go after the other one, then you can have HB change its name to be the only "Surf City". If you want to keep it as a moniker, then get with the estates of Jan or Dean and take it up with them.
What is wrong with Huntington Beach? What is the point of changing it?

@sfink1 Kind of funny new jersey has it named "surf city" when you can hardly surf in NJ without getting stuck by a hypodermic needle and getting aids.

Actually New Jersey and North Carolina have "Surf City"'s officially named. Sorry HB you are too late to name your city as if it were some cheezy theme park (even though it kind of is).
