Have you ever read the Dornian heresy? It's an alternate timeline for the 40k universe and has some really cool model designs and ideas. If you really want a challenge you should build some of those. In a nut shell all the legion roles are reverse Dornian replacing horus

Stunning model MAC. I think the greens you are using are going really well. Also, like you, I am a fan of bronze metalic. I think it adds a real depth to the model overall, rather than always using a "bling" (as you call it) metal like mithryl or whatever. All of the little details really are a factor in making this an interesting and "deep" piece. Well done mate.
