Halo 3: ODST returns players to familiar ground on a vital, top-secret mission. ODSTs gripping story, co-operative campaign and new multiplayer content will have Halo fans Preparing to Drop in Fall 2009.

Halo 3: ODST (formerly named Halo 3: Recon) is a standalone expansion for Halo 3, based in the fictional Halo universe. In the game, players will take on the role of a UNSC Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) during the events leading up to Halo 3.

GAMEPLAY INFORMATION: Although the gameplay of Halo 3: ODST bears a strong resemblance to previous Halo games, the player does not assume the role of Master Chief as in the main Halo trilogy, but rather a lone UNSC soldier known as the "Rookie" in the city of New Mombasa, Kenya. Since the ODST does not possess Master Chief's superhuman abilities and armor, he is more vulnerable to weapons fire, thus forcing the player to act more cautiously. While the game is not focused on stealth gameplay, some elements of stealth will be incorporated. It will also include open world gameplay.

The main objective of ODST is to lead the Rookie through the ruins of Mombasa and discover what happened to his missing teammates. After finding a piece of evidence left behind—a sniper rifle hanging on a lampost—a flashback is triggered and the player assumes the role of the missing soldier.

@Robotcam Damn there is no way anyone can answer all this for you with the character count limit. All I can answer for you is no chief and the rookie are not the same people. Bungie even says new hero in the trailer. Look up halopedia on google/yahoo it can answer everything for you. :)

when they were frozen and master chief had a red paint line across his body. then when forzen he wakes up from the pods he is in but only he survived because all were blown up in the pod and he crash landed back to earth while every one was killed exept him. then halo2 comes in then halo 3. is he master chief when he first was in the war as a odst drop shock trooper? someone answer me pls. it makes alot of sence cuz if not plz correct me if so

im abit confused is the rookie master chief cuz if you look at the date the odst story line is a few years early before any spartan had been their its like when master chief first went to the unsc. then halo wars. thats when the spartans showed up with grey armour but in game thier green. the odst and spartans at the end killd arbitor but 1 stayed and sacrifised himself and all the odst and spartans were frozen to pass through time unharmed. thats when halo combat evelution comes in. remember

correct. but in the entire halo series of BOOKS there is some time alternation...read the book "ghosts of onyx" and you'll see about it. its confusing...but everything is very delicately put together in all the halo games and books. i havnt gotten to reading the one about contact harvest yet.

you cant kill everything in it, reinforcements are always being dropped inside the city.
