This is one of my wolfdog Lakotas TV appearances. This is an episode of Orange TV's PET TIPS shot at Fleet peoples Dog Park in Winter Park Florida. This segment deals with "Finding Your way Home" using the game hide and seek. Macie Logan of "A Mannerly Mutt" talks about how to teach your dog to find it's way home.
Lakota passed away on 6/26/07. Lakota was my pet, my companion, and my best friend. I miss her deeply.

  • Hi! I had a dog that looked just like Lakota. We never realized that he was a wolf hybrid until after he passed away. Once we left him at a pet hotel when we went on vacation and we had to cut our vacation short due to his neurotic behavior at being separated from us. May I ask how Lakota died? Reason being our dog was just fine and out of nowhere became very sickly and could not hold any food down. He was only 8-1/2. The vet could not determine what happened.

  • Sorry to hear about your pooch passing. It's unfortunate that you didn't know he was a wolf mix. You really have to expose them to the world (socialize them) when they are young. Otherwise you'll have real problems when they get older. Lakota died from a ruptured spleen, and bled internally. The vet believes she had a growth that caused it to rupture. By the time I realized anything was wrong it was to late. She was almost 13 when she passed.

  • your dog is beautiful

  • What a lovely creature Lakota was. I am so sorry for your loss. I have a wolf hybrid, "Phelan" (Gaelic for Grand Wolf). He is half wolf, 1/4 Shepard 1/4 Great Pyrenees. A couple vids I've posted. Special spirits they are indeed. Be well.
