@sillentskills In Fallout 3 after a few times playing I decided that you dont need stimpacks unless your attempting to get ass with a deathclaw and just sleep at the Megaton house or any bed after I killed the enemies whenever low on health. I beat the game and DLCs and now have around 1200 stimpacks.

I don't know what it was about Fallout 3, but I somehow always ended up having a shit ton of em. I was checking out my inventory one day and had about 173 stimpacks at level 12 and spent 10 minutes trying to figure out where they came from.
Was there some type of alternative healing? I remember food, but I don't remember it healing too much. Maybe I just had a lot of purified nuka colas? Now i'm wondering again...
