There is a separate paragraph dedicated to soldiers and officers of the Security Forces in the Mahinda Chintana which is the cornerstone for a new Sri Lanka.

It comes under the policy of protecting the country. The President crafted the required plans for the immediate construction of 50,000 houses under the Ranaviru Village concept. Its purpose was to meet the housing needs of the soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces. A significant stage of this massive programme has been completed under the guidance of the Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa. The stage is set for the vesting of the Ipalogama Ranaviru Village in the Officers. It is complete with all required facilities. It is also the largest village dedicated for the soldiers in Sri Lanka. Minister S.M. Chandrasena and Additional Defence Secretary Willie Gamage recently inspected the arrangements that are being finalized for the vesting of 1,500 houses in members of the Security Forces.
