Here is my Vox Tonelab ST demo. I am running the Tonelab into a Tech 21 Power Engine 60. I programmed all of the tones that you hear from scratch. The Tonelab makes it easy to create your favorite tones as well as the tones you hear on many classic albums.

  • Thanks for the compliments!

The ST does clean tones very well. I especially like the Fender Twin and Roland Jazz Chorus (@8:17) models. I have not tried any pedals in front of it (besides a wah-wah and Boss NS). IMO the combination of the built in TS and Klon emulated OD in combination with amp gain destroys any dist pedal. ;-) There are some serious High Gain monsters in there that don't even need an OD. I will try my Metal Zone in front to see what it does. What are you using?

  • I'm glad you turned your ibanez into a great sounding guitar. The other guitarist in my band likes ibanez. I keep telling him most of their factory pickups suck.

  • @gtarmn75 Thanks man! Yeah...unless you buy an Ibanez that comes with DiMarzio or IBZ's, the stock pickups have a pretty generic sound. I did not mind my Infinity's that came with this guitar, but they didn't have enough power and clarity. My fingers the Tonelab and the Tech 21 have a lot to do with it. It seems more and more people are using this setup as I look to the right. ;-)

  • I have also the tonelab St with a tech 21 and I try to make tones but it’s difficult for me. Can you write or send me your settings? Thank you.

  • @pignico Sure, just send me a message with your email address and I can send you my settings and a screen shot from my Tonelab Library. Remember to switch off cabinet modeling when going into the Tech 21 and to keep the volume on the Tonelab up higher than the Tech 21.

  • Smokin' playin' and happenin' tones, man.I've been thinking of switching over to the Power Engine 60 and ditching my tube power amp and Marshall 1936 2x12 cab.Question is, will I miss them or will the Power Engine and a good modeler do the job?The open back of the Tech 21 worries me a bit. What do you think? Thanks.

  • @UriahRoxx Thanks for the compliments. I don't know if I would get rid of that cool old stuff, but this gives setup gives me some of the best tones that I have ever had. The Tech 21 gives you great clean power. I have never played a gig with it, but it's great for practice. It has a full sound even with the open back, but I have never had it out of the living room. ;-)

  • Nice playing, and some really good rock tones.

How well does the ST do clean ?

I'm looking for a good amp modeller to use - rather than being that worried about effects. I see it has delay, chorus, flanger and reverb . . which is pretty much all I tend to use, with an OD or dist pedal in the front.

Have you tried any pedals with it ?

    Thanks for the demo.
