The Dingo and the Dolphin, a toothed Whale.
While hundreds of people stand on the beach, enthralled by the wild Dolphins literally at their feet, no more that a few metres behind them is a truly magnificent and equally enchanting animal. Dingo Loxie stands patiently at the end of the line, under a fluttering Australian flag, getting the occasional picture snapped by tourists that realise what she is..

Unlike the Dolphin or the Whale, there is no resort in the middle of the desert, built to showcase her achievements, no museum to demonstrate her species destruction at the hand of man. There is no Dingo Education Centre along side the Dolphin Education Centre costing millions of dollars of taxpayers money. But the Government does spend millions on the Dingo every year. Millions of dollars devoted to their extinction. Money on repairing an ineffective "dog fence".. Money on Toxic poisons to kill them in national parks. Money to pay pastoralist and professional "doggers' to trap shoot and scalp the Dingo for 50 bucks a head.. Millions on flights over uninhabited desert to wipe out the Dingo with aerial dropped 1080 baits at the rate of 50 per square kilometre. All to enable the pet meat industry breed 100's of thousands of feral goats that turn the land to dust. Millions more spent on the education and training of all these people on how to use 'best practice' in the genocide of an already endangered Australian native species.

So Loxie will continue her daily, lonely ambasadorial role, educating the public, greeting adults and children alike with a big grin and a wagging tail, without the millions of dollars to help in her own education projects. She will patiently stand in the background, behind the Dolphins and the Whales, silently doing all she can to dispell the myths and misinformation diseminated by the same government that spends millions on the adorable Dolphins and Whales. Like Loxie there are other Dingoes out there in the public performing the same role. In the face of overwhelming government sponsored opposition, these magificent and gentle animals breakdown the public misperceptions of the Dingo one person at a time..

Hopefully one day in there future the will be a Dingo Education Centre built in the desert. There will be a museum to the Dingo and the horrific way we 'Used' to treat them. The 5000 km 'dog fence will be ripped down and cut up and sold to tourists as souvenirs, who will come in their millions to get up close and see the Dingoes in the wild as they now come to watch the Dolphins at Monkey Mia and to watch the Whales migrating along our coastlines..

One Day.......

Please don't let the Dingo be wiped out by Greed, fear and Myth like the Thylacine..

It is our duty, not just as Australians, but as members of the human race, to make a stand against this injustice..

Do something now before it is too late. The fate of the Dingo is in your hands..

Contact your state Misister for the Environment or Federal minister for Environment Mr Peter Garrett and voice your abhorance at the Government sponsored genocide of Australia's own LION KING

Our DINGO

  • She BIT him ONCE on the leg and it pierced the femoral artery. Where were his parent on this World heritage listed Island? ??? Getting pissed and fishing miles away while their kids were roaming, unsupervised.. Would you say the same uneducated dribble if some idiot let their kids wander Krugger Lion park in Africa ?? Blame the STUPID PARENTS not the wilds animal that was protecting its young from some snotty nosed feral child throwing rocks at its babies!!! STUPID PEOPLE!!!!!

  • rsmokidd: You stupid fucking moron! in over 200 years of recorded history in Australia, Dingoes have killed ONE (1!!!!!!!) person.. A bratty child that was throwing rocks and sticks at a Nursing Mother Dingo.. THIS IS THE ONLY proven and verified case of a Dingo 'killing someone'.. Some little feral brad kid threw rocks at her babies and she chased him down and BIT him.. Good on her!!

  • Actually, no, they're not an introduced species. They've been here for over 4000 years. In that time, they've adjusted incredibly well to our ecosystem, keeping down populations of kangaroo, feral rabbits, crocs, etc, and have replaced the Tasmanian Tiger, which man helped to wipe out, as the top predator of Australia.

Without the dingo, our populations of native and introduced species would skyrocket out of control, too quickly for our plants and other native animals to handle.

  • Never thought about the Dingo like this before. Thanks for making me aware of it's plight. I love ALL animals but have a soft spot for the Dolphins & after reading this story feel so unhappy for the Dingo now. I hope they can be given some sort of protection. Australia needs the Dingo I believe even though I am from Scotland.

  • Those poisons aren't going to work. The dingo is going to read that sign and know not to go in there. Stupid humans.

  • This is so sad just look at the related videos..

  • Pure bred dingoes are very rare (except on Fraser island)... The 'Dingos' that you see and hear about are cross bred with feral dogs. The government pays us $50 for each feral dog/dingo that we shoot.

  • those farmers in Australia dont deserve to live. a Dingo is worth a hundred times more then them ex con rednecks, May they get 20 years of drought to drive them off that land. The dingo will always live

  • @artsychic2000 My eyes are open, This plight is not confined to the poor dingo, but to just about every thing on the planet, from the fish in the sea to the trees in the forest, We are all guilty of contributing to this global devistation, We as a species all contribute to this unless we were to live as cave men it is almost unavoidable. To say that it is governments doing is nieve really, as WE the people demand cheaper meat , oil, timber etc. Mankind itself is the Plague that will comsume ALL.

  • @guitarbobb if you look deep enough you will see that it is the corporations and the governments doing this..not individuals. Stop thinking the way they are trying to condition you to think and open your eyes.

They show you organisations that seem independant of the government but i assure you they are all government controlled...and they work for the government and the elites.

  • I found one, a male, years ago. He was about 8 months old and I kept him at home for 12 years. He was so gentle with my cats, children and even other dogs. I called him Rocky. I walked him each day for hours in the streets and campaign. EACH DAY under rain or snow... He loved it. At least this dingo had a happy life!!! His eyes were full of love when he looked at me.

But beware!! A dingo is not like a dog. It loves to feel free. If you cannot offer it freedom it won't be happy at all.

  • @RabidGenet Absolutely, the Dingo didnt have the effect the Red Fox did, it wiped out the Thylacine and Tasmanian Devil, but that was millennia ago, it's now a keystone species that the native wildlife depends on.
