Background: The HALLELUJAH SONSHINE BAND (HSB) formed in 1982, quickly becoming the favorite bluegrass gospel group in Lewisville, Texas. The band was comprised of eight members (three women and five gentlemen), who sang and were multi-instrumentalists.
HSBs main purpose for forming the band was to Praise The Lord and to share Gods Greatness and Goodness to everyone -as well as to play music, have fun and get the chance to meet friendly people everywhere. The music performed was a variety of bluegrass gospel music - with many originals written by the band members themselves.
The band performed all over the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex and beyond -playing for dozens of churches, retirement centers, nursing homes, family reunions, talent shows, birthday parties (one for a 104 year old man!), anniversaries and banquets.
The HSB was forced to disband in the fall of 1985, when several members of the group joined the military and moved away.

Specific HSB performance highlights include:
- Won 3rd place in a Bluegrass Band Competition -sponsored by Grants Bluegrass Festival, Salt Creek Park, Hugo, Oklahoma 1983.
