This hybrid PEOPLExpress / Continental Boeing 727-200 is obviously very heavy but still pulls off a wave as she's struggling to leave ground effect. This is one of my new favorite videos, I'd love to know the backstory on this one!

  • Pre-mature flow seperation? Seems unlikely he'd intentionally rock the wings, those types of signals are for compliance manuevers if intercepted. Hmmm...

  • WOW!!!!! that's crazy!

  • High density altitude?

  • its hard to see the exhaust but it may have had engines 1 and 3 running.

  • STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL STALL O____O''

  • Its PHX. I bet it was a hot day too

  • The stick shaker was working, I think.

  • maybe it is affected by the wake turbulence left over by a previous heavy aircraft (e.g. maybe a delta L1011)

  • What does a wing wave mean?
