Neither the piper nor I practiced this at all; this was a dry run to see if it was even recognizable "mit Dudelsack." In fact, the piper insisted on being off-camera because the performance wasn't up to her usual standards. But I have this feeling that we may never try playing this again -- much less working it up to a concert-caliber performance -- so I decided to put this rough draft up on YouTube in the interests of contributing something to humanity. :-) We had to use the keyboard to transpose the theme from D-flat Major to B-flat Major. Also, does my face really look like that when I'm playing piano?
Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky: Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-flat Minor, Op. 23, 1. Allegro non troppo e molto maestoso (excerpts from the introduction), arranged for bagpipes and piano.
Oh my goodness. Like grafting a shark's nose on a bunny's face, it is a thing that should not be, yet is.
