@Thumbsdb WCW didn't "open its doors" --- Bret was the hottest commodity on the market at the time so obviously getting him on their roster was a huge coup for WCW. If not for how badly WCW wanted Bret, then Vince wouldnt have been worried about Bret leaving WWF with the blt, and thus the screw job would never have happened.

Yes, looking back I did enjoy WCW during their big ratings phase, but moved to WWF with Rock and Stone Cold. I was surprised how much they did with Stone Cold, using beer trucks, monster trucks.

I'll agree with him for the most part, except the NWO thing ... at least when it first started. Having Hogan turn heel, that beginning of the NWO story was epic. Even to a diehard WWF fan like me. But then they milked it so much, the cow ran dry.

WWF in 97 vs WCW in 97, WWF was better. Bret's heel turn, real shades of grey, the US vs Hart Foundation, the birth of DX, the early start of the Attitude era. Austin vs Bret, Bret vs Shawn, Bret vs Taker, Austin vs Shawn. Mankind vs Taker, that was an amazing year for them and they should have overtaken WCW that year.
