@lurgainn , Wow, good for you for getting them up from seeds! I tried for years to grow them from seeds and I live in Texas. Finally established some in my yard using plants I bought at a feed store. They are lupins and we saw plenty of those in Scotland and England so there's no reason they shouldn't grow there for you. Congratulations!

@lurgainn thanks - got the seeds - agree brilliant rendition - awesome even

Yep they will grow here, brought some seeds back from US. They're like small Lupins. Not to detract from KR's great version of this song.................

Anyone tried growing bluebonnets in the UK?
-
I love Kates Our Town cover and this is is great - maybe a Kate cover album of US country would be good - I love this rendition and Kate's Our Town cover.

So so moved. It amazes me that Kate has not kept this beautiful song in her set.

One of my favorite Nanci Griffith songs by one of my favorite English singers. With pictures from my neighborhood.
Perfect!

Wow....superb version...the sentiment behind the song...everything...beautifull
y sung...left simple..Nancy Griffith and Kate Rusby ...what a pair of songwriter/singers they are !!xxx -
This is from a collaboration album called 'Intuition'. It features many fine female artists: Kathleen Deighton, Rosalie Deighton, Julie Matthews, Kathryn Roberts and Pat Shaw.
This album also contains the almost completely a-capella song 'Hunting the Hare'.
@SlothCalledSid I believe this was from the early 90's, from when she was duetting with Kathryn Roberts, so she would have been much younger. Probably early 20's? It is, indeed, beautiful. But then, Kate could sing the phone book and it would be beautiful. :D
