First real test shoot with the Canon HF S10 at Huntington Library in Pasadena, California. All but one shot was handheld as I can't afford a tripod :P enjoy!
This is definitely a place for anyone who loves gardening or who has an eye for color and nature. The flowers and scenes were breathtaking! You're always wandering onto some new design, and every where you look there's an eyeful to take in. Give this place a visit and I guarantee that you won't regret it!
*FILM NOTES
Shot in 24 fps with both Tv mode set around 1/60, and Av for close up images. Used the auto white balance, daylight, and shade settings. Manual focusing.
Edited with FCE, pulldown with JSE, and compressed with Handbrake.

@npn888 sounds good. I look forward to your email. Have you checked out the T2i? I was going to switch to that as soon as I can afford it. Vimeo's got tons of comparison stuff. Good luck!

My friend made a pvc rig and works the same. I got this steadicam I got from Ebay for 100.00 from indiehardware. Its easier to adjust than the Merlin and 700 dollar cheaper. Im planning to get a $200 flycam by around November so it can handle a Canon 7d so you can have mine cheap. Im from La Crescenta. i'll email you in a few months.

@npn888 nice! I know exactly what you're talking about. I saw someone using the halo rig one day and after checking the price, I knew that I couldn't afford it. Instead, I made the PVC FIG RIG! Check it out if you haven't already.
I've been trying to find a poor man's steadicam. Can you make one yourself or buy one for cheap? Where can I find it? Thanks!

i use a a stablizer called halo rig for close shots using 24p. I prefer a steadicam for moving subjects but its kind of expensive( I have a poor mans steadicam). I'll check out your other video.
Thank you!

@npn888 hey thanks for the comment! I didn't use any color grading; it's all just raw footage straight from the camera.
you can find more of my work on vimeo if you search "spleeny". There's a video there titled "UCI 2010" where I got to use a tripod in case you wanted to compare.
