Sorry for my english, im from Argentina... Here it is, Dinosaur Jr. Budge, (Live version). Im a huge Dinosaur Jr and J Mascis's fan. This is my tribute to them.
The main characteristics of the song are: I tried to make sound like they're playing live. In the beginning, it starts with the crowd screaming and clapping, and the band enters and does a fast sound check. The beginning of the drums I made it like Murph played in the live version of the dvd of the band Live in the Middle East. Also, the end is like the dvd, no fade out, the band keeps on playing. The hole thing has a little bit of reverb: drums and guitars, specially, to produce a sence of big space, like in a concert.
Some instruments are fake and some are real. Drums are fake, I made them with the editor of GarageBand, it took me some time, its boring but somehow its fun. Guitar and bass are real. The guitars are in mono, like if they were playing in a small place (I know when J plays, he has three amp stacks in his back). GarageBand has this thing now that you can choose different amps and effects. The clean guitar was recorded with what looks like Fender Super of Deluxe Reverb. The distorted one was recorded with what looks like Marshall JMP. Also, the Marshall is backed up with a pedal from GarageBand, the Vintage Drive OD. It is very cool, kind of adding some organic thickness.
Its clear that something is missing: vocals. I cant sing I would love to but I cant. In the future I will find somebody to record the vocals and uploaded again.
Also, I record the screen with iShowU to prove that its real and I made it. I could have just put pictures of the band, but no. I downloaded the demo version. I know, I could have paid for the programme, but Im out of cash, so...
Note: Check out the studio version and other stuff.
Hope you enjoy it.
