Need portable, reliable storage? Want a way to easily dock a few hundred gigabytes? Perhaps you need to take a look at the DataPort 25 from CRU. This little device is the size of a floppy drive and yet it contains 2 x 2.5" SATA hard drives in a hot-swappable package.

I really love the eject feature this thing has but I'm not sure I got it right.
It has this USB port on the backside of it, but when I pop it out and take it with me I can't just connect this thing to another machine through that USB port alone can I? Doesn't it need an additional power source?

The USB port on the back is really for DIY'ers and hackers who like options. If you WERE going to use is as truly mobiel storage. (i.e. not just from one desktop dock to another) you would get one of the modular cases that CRU-DataPort has on their site.

if you see Fr. John McGary, SJ, tell him that some alumnus of Jesuit HS Sacramento said hi.
