Ummm yeah, no need to tell me I look like complete and utter crap. I originally wanted to cross train and do MT classes along with my BJJ classes. However, upon suggestion of an instructor it's much better to start from the knees up and be at least efficient with one before starting another. Considering that 90% of fights end up on the ground eventually and I wrestled for a year in HS, I decided doing just all BJJ first wasn't a bad idea.

Hopefully once I get my blue belt I'll cut down on my BJJ classes and take some MT classes because as you'll see in the video my n00b ass needs it.

On my off/bored days, I hit the heavy bag and just do things based on what I know. So one day (today) I decided to video tape and "see" what I looked like.

Ahhh, well, I look like garbage. My kicks look horrendous. They are very telegraphed, angled incorrectly, and are digustingly slow. I just feel and look weird and uncomfortable standing. My hands drop with every punch and kick. I'm not even going to mention the foot work ('cause there is none).

Gahhh, yeah, it just looks terrible. Eventually I want to post a video after taking 6 months of MT classes some time next year and compare the videos.

Everyone is welcome to scrutinize and make fun of me... and tell me what I'm doing wrong... which won't be hard to do considering that it looks like EVERYTHING I'm doing is wrong.

So everyone... enjoy and laugh at my n00bness...

  • Turn your hips , thought he was throwing foot sweeps

  • yoo i train muay thai and bjj but any ways your punching looks good your kicks not that much you got the power and everything but when you kick with that right leg make sure you pivot on that left foot it gives you a wider range and motion for you kicks and more power to and just one little thing with your punches when you punch man make sure that you're punching from your cheeks every punch start from the cheek and come back to the cheek but keep trainin man you'll get better

  • you have some power just turn and pivot your foot more

  • kicking with a shoe on is generally a bad idea.. just putting it out there

  • SMH. WHERE IS THIS GUY? AT A BALLYS?

  • You have beautiful Boxing skills

  • You need to rotate your hips over so your hitting with your shin. Otherwise you are going to destroy your own knee by kicking with the side of your foot like that in a roundhouse kick.

  • Dude at least you can punch.

  • It is all in the hips, if you stretch out your hips and work on turning your hip, we use this to train our mewashi geri which is for a few differences a thai kick. Lay on you side and practice lifting you leg and turning you hip, and when that be comes natural try siting with the kicking leg behind you bent and try kicking that way keeping your foot off the ground.

  • theres no need to wait untio u get a bjj black belt lol. you can train whatever you want whenever you want and you will only improve by taking more classes. i say get to an mt class and start learning
