Holy late reply, but I don't think I did previously.
How is the shop liable? The customer's tire popped and damaged the customer's car. His parts, his problem.
If there was that magnitude defect in the tire if it didn't happen on the dyno it would have happened on the street and caused even more damage and possibly death or human injury.

@JoeyMisanthropy Are you kidding me? That took out his fender, bumper, front lip and headlight at least. That's hundreds of dollars worth of parts, if not more. Like I said, I'd be absolutely furious...
