May I present for your delectation a piece of ancient history, dredged up from the depths of my video archives, and showcased here as a bitter reminder that any dignity to which I might make claim is surely foolish pretense.
Here you find one Mr. Brendan Getzell and the Right Honourable Heather Orth at the Brainwash Cafe in San Francisco on December 30th, 2007, in the midst of what is perhaps the single dorkiest moment of both their silly, silly lives.
The song is "The Mariner's Revenge"; a bloody tale of tragedy on the high-seas by those titans of modern literate folk rock, The Decemberists. In its entirety, the piece runs just shy of eight minutes. I figured this wee chunk would be easier to digest. Also, it happens to be the only portion of the performance not riddled with egregious fuck-ups by yours truly. TURNS OUT YOU CAN'T ACTUALLY LEARN THE ACCORDION IN A WEEK, GUYS.
The dorkitude later reached DEFCON 1 during a duet of Meat Loaf's epic "I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)"...the video of which will never, ever, ever see the light of day.
this is awesome :)
