In January of 2011,on a trip to central Quebec (well north of Montreal),my BMW diesel started like a champ on a -31F (don't know what this is in Celsius) morning. With today's diesels all you need is a tank of *locally blended* fuel and a good battery and your car will start.Having known in advance that it was gonna be cold that night I filled up at a local Shell station before turning in for the night.

@MW2mostwanted I've owned 2 Audi A6s, and recently traded a 2006 A6 for a brand new TDI....For a small car, it has the most upscale interior I've seen...There is nothing cheap about this car...The interior is on par with Audi.

God, how can you have your hands and face exposed at -30?? I can't even imagine.

The fit and finish of these cars is second to none. One of the best purchases I've ever made.
