The IIHF has published a video on its officiating standard visualising dos and don'ts in hockey to support officials and players, and to promote the federation's principles of fair play and respect. For the past ten years the IIHF has concentrated its efforts on eliminating restraining fouls and dangerous actions form our sport. In doing so, we have established the groundwork for the development of an IIHF Officiating Standard to be applied to all of our competitions. More information on officiating:

  • how is the check @ 4:55 legal, but Kulda was DQ for his hit against Martinek for 3 games?

  • both were clean hits. I don't get why penalties and disciplinary acts get tougher if an injury occurs even when the hit is clean. Same hit can go undisciplined or be penalized depending whether the player getting hit is fortunate or not or tough or not. There should be no ifs and whens
