In a pregame ceremony, a statue of Phillies Hall of Fame broadcaster Harry Kalas is unveiled at Citizens Bank Park. Jimmy Rollins and Hall of Famer Steve Carlton unveiled the statue for the first time. The Kalas family got a first peek Sunday and thanked the many Phillies fans who funded the lifelong tribute to Harry.

I also want to share my original poem, "Harry In The Hall", which Harry loved.
It was a nice, beautiful day
Even tho' the skies above were gray
As we gathered on the field of play
To honor our friend, "Harry the K"
Harry responded in kind
With his loyal fans in mind
A better announcer you can't find
To deal with the summer-long grind

An absolutely beautiful tribute to a wonderful man. Lawrence Nowlan captured Harry Kalas perfectly. I miss HK terribly. As Harry probably would have done had he been able to attend in person, I teared up when I first saw the ceremony.
