Splinta24 inspired me to do a social experiment. This is project to see what kind of environmental/social effects when a person goes from kinky to straight. Not to say that this will change the love that I have for my hair in it's natural state, but I'm really curious to experience/find out the results. I ask anyone to join me on this quest.

  • Your hair is beautiful! It looks so soft and moisturized! Love it! I never give people a chance to love one style period. May it be curly, kinky, or straight. I will not let what others think change my love and obsession with my kinky hair! I love my naps. But people will always feel that straight is more beautiful because it is the American standard of beauty. Thank goodness I don't go by those standards lol Great video and experiment!

  • @LadiiOri TY sooo much!! I love my hair better kinky too! lol! I just love it better period, because it is soo much healthier than it has been for years. I see that by the length I've been retaining and the growth.

  • I'm definitely going to see if that is the case. Of course, Ill let you know at the end of the week when I've been out and about.

  • Same goes for me, people look at me, look at my kids, and it's so difficult to represent. But that's another social experiment all together....

By the way, at the end of your post, I saw all the pics. I really love the twists and the color. So nice!

  • Thank-you soo much, I like to play with color.

  • for my daughter, we blow out her hair, once in awhile (I prefer the natural curls personally).

I think people and the energy around does change. I notice my daughter seems to get a bit more vain, and others look at her like, oh wow, what amazing long hair. They like the curls too, but the straight hair gets more attention, for whatever reason.

I like for her to show those curls, and show her heritage/background.

With straight hair it's next to impossible to tell.

  • Hmmm. . .I still wonder it's a length thing. That's why I wanted to press mine out, b/c my hair isn't that long.

  • Correction my straightening my hair was to trim it -properly- I hadn't put heat to my hair in two years. It was not as a protective style.

  • So like you want to press it out and see if short straight hair, and straight long hair there'd be a diff or not? Like that you mean?

Maybe it's a long hair thing....

  • nice earrings
