A Q&A selection from the July 2009 EckhartTolleTV Issue

Is the desire to take personal responsibility for things in life purely ego-based? In response to this important question from one of our members, Eckhart reminds us that it is our state of consciousness in any given moment that creates the world we see around us.

  • Thank you, Eckhart! For being who you are, for sharing what you know. Eternally grateful.

  • @Yaylin2 You aren't getting this. He is saying we are interconnected with God and with each other, that if we are in the right state of mind, we are able to discover this connection. He is not anti anything, but believes the basic spiritual teaching he is revealing is that it stands as true no matter what else you may believe in.

  • Wonderful video wonderful teaching

  • Eckhart Tolle hates you.

  • The long way from caves to computers

  • Its prolly best to just drop the bible all together. It really is like a 3steps forward, 4 steps back kinda thing. All we need is within us (and within us means, WITHIN THE UNIVERSE). Like

Tolle said, do your part. That is all. If you do your part, WE CANNOT FAIL.

  • Too many senseless comments as usual. Just be and let be. If it doesn't make sense to some,it's because it's not supposed to. Shouldn't impose your views on others. You,me,him, her, them. Just let be. I like Eckhart ,a lot. To me it makes sense. Peace,

  • @lightbrownpoop It is wicked. It is just that these days we have to abide laws and there are those around us who condemn the wicked teachings of the Bible. The fact that Christians don't always act according to Biblical teachings does NOT mean that there are no evil teachings in it. Furthermore, not everyone is Christian, so gays and women in high positions is very much explainable.

Also, there's no misinterpretation since there is no context that allows different explanations.

  • @MGSGeneral it's not wicked, if you actually use your brain and don't painfully take sentences out of context when you're reading the scriptures and figure out the meaning of the supposed contradictions. there are some outdated concepts of course. what seems cruel and stupid to us now (stoning gays and lowering womans status) was very normal back them. but tell me, where are Christians killing gays and lowering the status of women these days? there are many strong female leaders right now.

  • @lightbrownpoop That very same Christianity is the one that condones slavery, promotes killing gay men, says that women are lower in status, teaches that handicapped people are inferior and may never turn Christian, contains stories of a "benevolent God" that orders many more to be killed for bad reasons, while Satan kills less people. It's the same God that thinks people working on Sabbath should be killed and raped women should marry their rapist... Christianity is wicked.
