OMG nice catch i really wished i wouldnt have missed that. those were some good days. SOUTHERN RAILWAY 611 forever!!!

I give to a fund to get 1218 and 611 running again. 1218 would be the most powerful operating steam locomotive in the world if it were restored.

I know Wick Moorman is huge railfan, If it wasn't for the rest of high brass in Norfolk and Atlanta who sees steam excursions as a traffic concern and liability, I'm sure the steam program would be a mainstay of NS. Thank God for Mr. Link and Mr. Claytor. Their love and dedication to the railroad had helped save the 611 and 1218 for all to see and for the few of us fornunate to see them in action.

Thanks for looking. The one time I saw her in steam I got these videos. An unforgetable experience.

I used to live by the north bound main line of Southern Railway (now Norfolk Southern) just about a mile of the old Spartanburg, S.C. train station. 611 would sometimes roar past there. There was no mistaking it's sound.
