how to make rust (easy)

not a great video, i'll make much better one soon but first does anyone know is it makes a bad gas or not?

Well that would depend on what you were trying to plate yourself with. In most cases a metal chloride or nitrate would do. The metal, of course should be the same metal as the cathode. This way the chlorine would be acting like a catalyst so no gas would be released.

However since electroplating yourself implies that you have unusually conductive skin and most likely are some sort of alien , If so then all bets are off and you may have no problems with chlorine in a gas phase.

So does mustard gas. Besides the potential to release chlorine, which a friend of mine did while trying to produce hydrogen, there are safer electrolytes. AND salt will rust steel wool just fine without electricity. So it takes longer.

And mustard gas is actually less toxic than chlorine. Its the nasty effects when it doesn't kill that it more of an atrocity.

Then again my friend might have been using catalytic electrodes which would make it more likely to produce gas.

In a closed room there is no need for the giant generators used to kill thousands in the open air. There are much better things to use than salt but I am not going to help people do stupid things. One idiot here claims to think that table salt is hydrogen bromide.
