@XxMB11xX I agree. Jackie Earle did a great job, and all this hate needs to cease. Of course it wont feel the same as Robert Englund, these are two different styles, and I really love Jackie Earle's approach. People need to stop trashing him, and respect him, no matter how you feel. 'Nough said.

The original is a classic and Englund was incredible. However, I thought the remake was well done and very creepy. Hayley's Freddy is a despicable pedophile. That made him so much more of a disgusting villian in my mind. I personally didn't prefer to see a child killer become an anti-hero in subsequent sequels to the original. When the audience cheers for the villian, for me, it is a sign of a bad horror movie.

Oh shut up, you will always have your classic Freddy. This is a movie for the new generation. It was time to see a different side of the iconic Freddy. Time for a new approach and boy did we get it with Jackie. Super impressed and now he is my new obsession...like his sexy voice!

@clkgrt If you want to talk about the "original" than you should read up on Freddy. Not only was it HEAVILY hinted at in the original series that he was a child molester, but Wes Craven actually created Freddy AS a child molester. The ONLY reason he wasn't openly displayed as such is because there was a child molester causing a panic while the movie was being planned, and he knew it could hurt the film's reception.

@Porkchops7870 For one, the original guy is too old. He says it's too physically painful for him to play Freddy. Secondly, how did Jackie Earle Haley suck? He created Freddy from scratch, new mannerisms, new walking style, new voice, everything. It's just a different KIND of Freddy, but the acting, as far as acting goes, was stellar for a character who is a demonic serial killing child molester. Hate all you want, but don't ignore somebodies hard work because you dislike the outcome.
