This video shows the Wedge screw rim modification of a Parduba 5 trumpet mouthpiece using a Tormach CNC mill. The mouthpiece is scanned, the original rim is removed, and Bach threads are added.
A new Wedge rim is then machined and blended with the original underpart.
The modified mouthpiece will have a more full sounding middle and lower register with a less nasal quality. The upper register will be easier with more core to the sound. Flexibility is also usually improved. Similar results can be obtained with any trumpet mouthpiece.
