  • @chrismcgovernmusic Thks so much for uploading, this is simply beautiful! I play Double Bass, and last year I played this song w/ David Kim guest soloing in my youth regional orch. It was spectacular, and watching Hilary perform the piece brings back so many memories. It is quite special to see Hilary play this. She's truly amazing. I have a question though: is there a specific reason they chose this config. (with the cellos in the middle)?

  • @SKsquashbass12 Good question, I'm not sure, perhaps this is just the way this orchestra works. Maybe Bichkov gets a better sound from that setup.

  • at 7:22...OMG she's so cute, love her!

  • @veidhleadoir haha 'red or white?' is probably what she asked him. I agree, it is an adorable moment!

  • @ucharecords Hahaha,, i agree with you... she is jealous hahaah :P

  • She kind of looks like Sappho, the Greek poetess. I mean she is a real poetess on violin!

  • thrilling audiences to boredom

  • @chrismcgovernmusic She looks so beautiful :D

  • @chrismcgovernmusic I would like to be the concertmaster!!! jaja so cuteeee Hilary, is the best <3 This Glazunov is so perfect.

  • @ucharecords hahahaha you're right, she looks so pissed!

  • i think she actually missed an attempted pluck for an open E string during the B harmonic at 1:14. But, it flows better and keeps the melody moving without the pluck (although it is significantly more funzies to play the pluck when i try it hehe)...I actually forget to do it myself sometimes due to the fact that I have heard this performance without the pluck because it sounds mo betta!

  • Bravo !
