    Sorry for my bad english.

Yes. But he should keep it in 4 voices to the end. It's less difficult to write a quadruple fugue if you has more than 4 voices to use.

My thought is...I wouldn't have thought that would be needed since the original theme has been well established from the start of the AoF, and isn't a new theme, whilst the others are new to this particular fugue.

Zoltan Goencz's attempt is the best I know, but it need some changes:

1 There is no development in TP(F-major) F-major is closer to the main key than B flat major.

2 Dont betray the motiv from the 14 notes theme in alto, bars 243-244.

3 Developments in major keys sounds very beautiful (and little sad to) at the moment BACH enter. Dont destroy the beauty by using BACH twice.

I agree whit Goencz by using the 14 notes theme because of symbolic in all other themes.

    (41, BACH, 7)

Thats correct, the theme has 41 notes, but to count it? It is'nt that easy, many people will also count the modulation, and then they dont understand the point. (Dont count the modulation, 9 last notes)

there are 2345 bars of music in the Mass in b-minor (BWV 232) 2+3+4+5=14. here the first fugue motief of WTC 1 have 14 notes. I Read some book about number symbolism about bach it said bach did know his own dead date, sound weird and creepy. but look at this the first contrapunctus 1 has 12 notes = 12 months ?

    and contrapunctus 14 first motief has 7 notes = 7 days = week ?

bach died on year 1750 = 13 imagine if bach died on 1751 = 14

In fact the 4th motif is exactly the same with the one in Contrapunctus V, appears in VI and VII as well, for both normal and inverted version.

Would this be the real plan that Bach had thought about? I think it might be, and thanks for Göncz showing it by completing the fugue. Right now I do not get the enough knowledge the see this by looking at the original incomplete score only..
