depends how shitty the comp is, need to chek first of all if it has a pci express slot (wich most high end cards use) also need to chek if your powersupply is powerfull enough to run the card. also depends on what kinda games u wanna run. You cant just take a shitty comp change the graffic card and suddenly you can play BF3 ultra settings no problem, doesnt work like that.

You would probably also need to upgrade CPU and maybe also HD and memory. Depending on what kind of pre-existing setup we are talking about. I am no expert though.
