Never been a 'massive' Husker Du fan, always respected them. I was aware of them, had my favourite songs (girl on heaven hill, etc) Never bothered with sugar

Bob Mould rocks. His Husker Du songs helped get me through my teens. I didn't realise he was gay until a long time afterwards (round about the time of Sugar), and although I'm not gay myself, by then it just reinforced my sense that when artists really communicate with people it doesn't matter whose ass they stare at in the street. He writes great fucking songs and sings and plays them with passion, and that's what matters. In short, if he came on to me, I'd have to think pretty hard about it.
