We offered this in-depth pre-conference session on June 16 at the Southfield, Michigan St. John's Conference Center. The program was approved for 2.75 (General) recertification credit hours toward PHR, SPHR, and GPHR recertification through the HR Certification Institute.

Summary:
Jung wrote about synchronicity late in his career. Psychologists, theologians and thinkers, however, are seriously considering the implications that synchroncity might have for cosmology and ethics in the 21st century and beyond.

C. Otto Scharmer, as a scientist has boldly gone ahead to publish and name his presencing researcsh Theory U, drawing many fields of inquiry: art, busines, philosophy, science (the new sciences in particular), and unapologetically, spirituality. It references business research and emotional intelligence, body awareness, and includes spiritual insight and flow.

This session will explore the founding work of Carl Jung and acausal Synchronicity and meaningful coincidences, referencing sensemaking by Karl Weick, and what it means for practitioners and the science and exploration of Flow including business applications. Theory U offers a set of principles and practices for collectively creating the future that wants to emerge (following the movements of co-initiating, co-sensing, co-inspiring, co-creating, and co-evolving). Discussion of Theory U includes Sharmer's tools of understanding institutional blind spots, habits of attention, listening and presencing toward advancing the discussion of this next frontier in business and organization development through practical application of tools & practice.
