"Eating odd foods" is wrong expression as usually taken as stereo-typed view and even it is wrong. Those foods are extremely unusual for Japanese; Horse, Dolphin, Whale, Cat and Shark. In history, there were called "Gete-mono-ya" (Unusual food shop" which sells unwanted fishes captured in their fishing nets. Those people who ate Shark or Whale are finnantially handi-capped people. Cat,Dolphin No way.
