September 2009 weekly supervised half-hour restricted visit at the pound with dog on death row that never harmed a human or seriously injured a dog.
Filmed on peril of the SPCA and Halifax stopping all visits because they forbade any photos or films of Francesca Rogier's own property. This was just one of a dozen harsh and unnecessary restrictions imposed on this woman nearly a year after her dog was impounded. Brindi was seized to be put down in July 2008. Prior to April 2009, when Halifax finally allowed weekly visits, Francesca was allowed a single visit with her dog - and on that day she fully believed it would be the one and only visit, as she had just won a case against the city and had every reason to believe her dog would be coming home with her.
From April to December 18, 2009, Francesca was allowed weekly visits, no more than 30 minutes each, on a day and time stipulated by the SPCA, supervised by a staff member from the SPCA and a staff member of Animal Services. No privacy, and no permission to take her dog for a walk outside of the 40-foot pen that is mostly graveled, as can be seen here: in summer, hot and smelly from poop and pee, and in winter, icy and treacherous. And a smidgeon of grass. For a dog that used to roam the beaches and woods of the eastern shore for a brief year after waiting two years to be adopted, this is cruelty. For an owner, who is able to understand language and know that her dog is actually on death row, it is torture.

This just breaks my heart into pieces to see the love between you both. How callous are the authorities who have done this to you.. I cannot think how they can live with themselves, all I can do is shed tears when I watch this film. The world is watching and we all want Brindi to come home. Sending love and best wishes from UK xx

Thank you for sharing your wonderful Brindi with us and I am crying as I watch this as I wish she could go home with you, Francesca. Please know that you are both loved all over the world. I am in Idaho and my heart breaks for you. You are the most loving doggie mother in the world and she loves you back so much. I have written many letters and never received an answer and just feel this is such a terrible injustice. Hugs to you both.
