The Csangos: A Hungarian Relic from the Middle Ages. Adevarul despre Ceangai. The Truth about the Csangos' ethnic origins. The Csangos are an ethnic Hungarian population that settled in the region of Moldova in the Middle Ages. They speak an archaic form of Hungarian, a medieval dialect much treasured by Hungarian linguists. In the last 100 years they have been subject to an intense Romanianization campaign by the Romanian state, and many have forgotten their origins! This video is first of all dedicated all of YOU, my Csango and Hungarian friends, and to any decent person interested in the subject, regardless of your nationality. ENJOY. [correction: I meant to say "Nagy István" and not "Nagy Sándor"]

  • @01pumpkineater hey thanks a lot, sorry im replying just now, but i just read your reply and i find it amazing!i will have to do more research but this info is one of the arguments and proof i needed, thanks again!

  • @JamaicanXtina - I 've found out your village's (Ploscuteni-or Ploszkucén) data's from the Romanian census in 1930:

out of 1220 people 1188 were Hungarians

so if you catholic you're probably Csango.

    greetings

  • Just listening to their traditional songs,I've found out how various ethnic elements melt in the same form to cast one great creation (e.g. Romanian specific instruments and melodic line together with Hungarian lyrics). We should encourage these people to support and keep their traditions going,no matter their citizenry belongs to that state or this state.

  • Too many disputes on origins, but none can see that they are a great example of cultural mixture between Romanian and Hungarian tradition and they show how Fino-Ugrian and Moldavian traditions and customs and way of life have been going along together in peace for centuries. Some see them as minorities or they talk about 'belongings to our people not yours'.They are unique living values that must be protected and they show how two or many nations have been living together.Don't be blind, people

  • this video is absolutely great!i never paid attention to my roots..and i always knew that my parents in their village,in ploscuteni were talking another language the csango language but they told me that they speak this language because their parents also did.unfortunatelly my grandparents are dead..so i cant ask them for details..but i am really curious if i am csango or not,i cant really find an explanation why they were speaking that language if they were not csango!again thanks 4 the video

  • Ok, i allso found another very important thing about the ones settled around Roman. After the Battle of Baia Stephen the Great campained in Transilvania to capture Petru Aron. He retreated together with 100 000 people and settled these in Moldova, many of them were settled there. It is possible that these are the remains of this population wich at that that time was about a fifth of the entire population of Moldova. These happened in 1468.

  • toljatok bele középkori forrásokat is...fenn van a neten 1 angol nyelvű forrásgyűjtemény

  • bullshit...catholic saxsons/germans, slovaks, croats didn't have to speak hungarian language only the romanians...
