My brother was funny, incredibly smart and very loving. He was a talented lyricist, musical composer and writer of children's stories. He struggled with mental illness most of his adult life. He would disappear sometimes and we wouldn't know where he was. Sometimes he would disappear, even though he was right in front of you. No matter where he was or how awful life was for him internally, he always tried to help others. The one person he could not help was himself.

On Monday, August 3rd, 2009, he found peace.

The song you hear is his. The vocals are Keith Cra'ppell. "Masterpiece" was written and recorded in 1994 on a CD called "The Image Factory". Neither this song or others from the CD were picked up by a studio. Mike absolutely loved Pink Floyd. Many of his other compositions and lyrics on the CD show the influence Roger Waters had on his life.

We miss him and love him so very much. He is finally outside his wall.

  • Knew Mike from Dallas Christian, he had a heart of Gold, and always was willing to lend a help hand to those that were less fortunate. I found out from your dad on 02/08/2010 was a great shock to me

  • Yes, he was, he would literally give the shirt off his back. We are heart broken. It is hard to believe it has been 6 months now. Thanks for viewing and for your post. It means a lot.

  • Hi Lisa,

I'm so sorry to here about Mike. I recall the great times our families had together. Mike was always very kind and enjoyable to be with. I can recall the last time I saw him. It seemed as though we never drifted apart.

  • No, he was my only sibling. Our dad is originally from Vicksburg, MS, then to Oak Grove, LA then to Dallas. Thanks for watching. Mike would have liked that you did.
