Video 1 of 2 - General Ingredients (Originally made for my Mum - I live in Calgary and she is in Montreal and only see her once a year so I thought this video series would be helpful, but also helpful to others after I thought about it - hope you enjoy)
This is my own video creation with me in the kitchen. I made this for my mother who is elderly and has given up on cooking fresh for her and her partner. I am trying to encourage her to try some one pot meals. I bought her a cast iron pot with an enamel coating, just like mine in the video except in a beautiful Caribbean Blue - In the second video I will show her how to make a basic no recipe needed Chicken Soup. This is part 1 of 4. This video shows some good items to have around the kitchen, or reasons I like to have them for one-pot home-cooking with my braiser or pot.

I decided one afternoon to make some chicken soup for my lunches for the upcoming week - and didn't really do much preparing, just put up the camera so I could do a video journal of the process - where I use frozen vegetables, I would recommend and prefer fresh if available, and if you have fresh uncooked meat you can saute or braise it a little in some oil and spices before placing them in the oven. If you have time to marinade before hand, great! -- but this video probably is one of the fastest, and easiest ways I would make this soup with items in stock when I haven't had a recent shopping trip.

  • I live near the out-let in Florida and they do have good deals ! I am going this weekend wish me luck, for a white color le creuset.

  • @kimson35 Hi did you pick up something? I have been to that outlet and brought one home last year, it was an awesome price -- hubby was not happy about having to deal with such a heavy item in the luggage, so fortunate you are so close :) I also love the Stuart Weitzman shoe outlet at the same mall LOL -- did you find one in white?
