do you think this would work if I used bacon instead of beef? I mean like...the whole over process and such. I am aware most bacon is REALLY greasy but i will try it anyway =] please let me know if you have ever tried it or even if you think it's worth a try!

@ZadroOtrebor bacon will not work. only use lean beef or deer. pigs could have worms that you need to cook and kill or you will get the worms. I know if you cook bacon crispy it stores a long time @ room temp.

Thanks, great video. I had just heard that cooked meat is very bad for animals (I am a person that considers humans as animals) so I was looking for alternatives. This is very helpful, thanks for taking the time to create this video.
One odd question: I would like to create a big thick piece of jerky for my dog and I am wondering your thoughts on how thick can I make it? I am guessing the thicker the more time it takes?
TheQueposfan 5 months ago
@TheQueposfan you can't make it thick because it will take so long to dry that it will start to decompose. YUK. My dog will eat meat that is not fully dried but not raw meat. just keep it in the fridge or feed right away.
