it would be election suicide for a US candidate NOT to be critical of Russia, regardless of what the candidate actually thinks.

Obama would take a smarter tack by just stating that he refuses to comment on a situation where there is an ongoing crisis. He should point out, rightly so, that it is important that the US appears unified. Then he can fix it after the election, and get our stupid oil companies out of those countries.

Obama is selling out big time and he's just as a simple politician as McCain. If he had any backbone ,this is a fabricated event and he's allowing thme to pull him and all of us into it. This also removes virtually all of our troops from our country.
Any american that supports this is a complete sheep of a person who can only define their patriotism through murder and xenophobia.
Maybe this is what Michelle Obama meant about being dissapointed in our country.

As P.Escobar succinctly put it
Imagine if Moscow added Western Europe to the Warsaw pact
Set up military bases in Mexico and Central America
Set up a missile defence system in Cuba
And built a pipeline with China
To send Venezuelen and Mexican oil
To a port in the Pacific
And then to Asia
And all of this
by passing the United States of . . .uhm. . .Amnesia?

That's exactly what the US has done to Russia

Russia is not the U.S. Also, the U.S. is not trying to own the pipelines of oil going to other countries in order to control them. The U.S. didn't occupy Venezuela, Mexico, China, or Cuba. 3 strikes, and your argument is a joke.

Your argument is a joke. When would the US occupy Cuba? After the previous Bay of Pigs? (this Georgia affair being the second). When would they occupy China? After being their ally in WWII? As for Mexico, we did occupy it. I believe its called California, Texas, and Arizona. Do you even own a history book?
