  • The football game was from October 17, 1965. The TD pass gave Detroit a 21-3 lead late in the first half; unfortunately, it was all Green Bay in the second half, and the Packers won, 31-21. (Typical Lions!)

  • The afternoon schedule in the 70's on WJR included J P MacCarthy's Focus (he took over), Karl Haas, and Mike Whorf.

Cavanaugh later got a divorce and died of a heart attack. Was considered at that time (1966) one of the up-and-coming national Democratic politicians.

    Great programming!!!!

  • OH MY ........... Karl Haas! What a great teacher, with a fantastic voice! Thanks for a great video!

  • Great post. These three videos are by "Jam Handy" that created most of the promotional videos in the Detroit area, esp. for General Motors. Also, a great video of Karl Haas and JP McCarthy.

    A great post.

  • I'm loving this! I am a loyal JR listener.
