it took me forever to figure out how to get past the stone statues under the forest with lyeti XP bowling ball duh....

You will need to evo your mage ID to Nautilus rod to unlock the purifly skill. to evo to that form you will need to eat 40 red or yellow(cyrstals) to evo from wooden to scissors rod and 70 green/yellow/white more to evo from scissors to Nautilus. however Hector cannot commant the ID to cast the spell, but the ID will only automatically cast it when you encounter the red bones.

It is a special battle type ID called Iyeti. Starting with a new battle type ID, collect red/sword evo crystals until your ID becomes the rocky looking battle ID. Then switch to a special weapon and collect white evo crystals.

Here are all of the HP max ups.
#1 In the wall of the left side of Garibaldi Temple.
#2 Behind the door of the set of Blood Skeletons in the Baljhet Mountains.
#3 In the area right before the last save point in the Baljhet mountains.
#4 In the Eastern part of the Cordova town suburbs.

Pretty sure there is 5 hp max ups total. I think the last one is in the secret area of Aiolon Ruins.

Is the toilets in this game supposed to be a humourous joke?

There is only one toilet, and it is part of a sub-quest to find all the chairs in the game. The quest doesn't affect the main game, so I guess it kinda is a joke. Most of the chairs are a little bit off-color.
