  • Harold Camping is now saying the rapture is set for tomorrow, October 21, 2011. When I found out my mother was going to the grocery store, I told her to make sure to get the fixings for a great fest, as Jesus was coming. We can't just feed him pork and beans!

  • Raptor Zombie Jesus is coming.

    You're all screwed.

  • @yoyo762 My whole time calling myself an Atheist I don't think I ever flat out said their couldn't be someone out there, just not any conception of an omnipotent omniscient god like Jehova or Allah. Beings like that are bullshit, they don't exist, they are imaginary friends for grown ups. If anything, I think that if they did exist, they were like the Goa'uld on Stargate. Evil extra terrestrials that made us into slaves.

  • @yoyo762 You are totally right, it does take years to overcome the indoctrination of the church. I am actually trying to make peace with the church, making it crystal clear to them I have no interest in Christianity. I want to readopt Buddhist morals, and let go of my anger and resentment towards the church. The Buddha had said that holding onto anger is like holding a hot coal waiting to throw it at my enemy, I am the one that gets burned. Children should NOT be exposed to the Bible.

  • @yoyo762 Actually, since then I have come to the conclusion that I am probably more of an Atheistic Deist as I still talk to something. I prefer to call it a guide, kind of like the Ancients in Stargate SG1 or the Mahayana concept of the Buddha. But as far as biblegod, I am totally an Atheist. Classical Atheism like Richard Dawkins practices seems to be missing an element of reality to it. I also don't believe we have a soul or self will. I suppose I think a lot like a Buddhist, go figure.

  • @FriendofDaishonin This reminds me of a saying by Mark Twain about habits.

He said " A bad habit is not something to be thrown out the window but rather coaxed down the stairs one step at a time".

It was not easy for me either to deprogram myself out of 30 yrs of scary indoctrination about invisible deities in the sky. But now that I've cleared my mind of this religious claptrap, it looks so silly and foolish. I now find myself musing over how any adult could subscribe to this nonsense.

  • @krapptacular I could never do it i care about people to much, not to fuck over my fellow man or woman.

  • I should get into religion, it has good money in it. Just call me Father Krapp ! haha

  • @shumpert67 I choose not to believe your stupid death-threats and promises of eternal torture by an imaginary figure from a fantasy book.

  • This was a cool story.

  • @shumpert67 STOP preaching and try presenting a rational argument supported with evidence that a god & a devil exist.
