Clean Water - Saving Lives in Swaziland (PSI)

Unsafe Water is the leading cause to 4 out of 5 illnesses in Swaziland, claiming the lives of 1 out of 10 children who die under age five.

Unsafe water also threatens the lives of people living with HIV/ AIDS and Waterguard plays a key role in increasing the survival rate of HIV+ people.

PSI Swaziland and partners are providing Waterguard, a water purification tablet, to the areas of the country that need it the most. Recently, a cholera outbreak has hit one of the provinces in Swaziland and PSI has immediately responded by ensuring clean water is available in the exposed and neighboring areas. Additionally, clean water is now available in more than 400 community care points throughout the country, reaching the most vulnerable children and families.
